Al Dente Cucina

This was such a disappointment for us. We arrived at 2:30pm unaware they close at 3pm. No one bothered to communicate that to us either, they sat us and took until 2:50 to actually get our order. They were out of many drinks and food items. Server then came back immediately and said the kitchen is closing so if we want dessert we need to order now, hadn’t even received our drinks yet. Received our food at 3:10, all of it terrible. Had to send back the risotto as it was raw, they took my entire plate including the fried pork. When they returned the dish I had new risotto and the same pork, now soggy and cold from sitting. Everything was just bad. The servers then proceeded to sweep and mop directly next to us, while we were eating! So rude. If they would had told us they closed at 3 and that would greatly affect our experience we would have happily taken our business elsewhere. Would never come back here.

I have been living in Brazil since 2014 and I have not been lucky with Brazilian restaurants. I found "Al Dente" via Instagram and looking at the good pics in the feed, I decided to give it a try.
And I was right. The first thing that you noticed is the way how you are attended: Finally a Restaurant which uses an Italian name, serves Italian food and behaves such as one, serving water FOR FREE (the only restaurant that has the same service is in Pipa and the owner is Italian.) while the rest of the "Five Stars Restaurants" do not.
There is no loud music and if a band is playing inside the restaurant, the volume is low and the cover price is far below the standard around here.
From a 360 view, the restaurant is beautiful, pretty good design.
Let's talk about food: I had several dishes, mostly pasta and I have to say that the Tomato sauce is one of the best I've eaten so far, moreover, the dish comes well presented and the portion is well balanced for each customer.
you can taste different flavors in the sauce, differently from other restaurants that I had been before, which it made me remember when I was working for a small restaurant in Rome as a chef assistant.
I had two different desserts, the sugar was well balanced, and when I had their personalized Petit Gateau that was the moment when I realized that the chef knows about Italy: he reproduced a typical summer Italian dish called "prosciutto e melone" and turned into a dessert, a Genius.
I did not try their Pizza, which I am curious.
