No alcohol or shisha. The owner is very hands on here, which is a good experience. He speaks many languages so it’s ideal for foreigners. Good kebab, though could us more meat and be less expensive. This place came highly recommended from people from the city and it delivers, however, the price is high for the cuisine and food that it offers. Worth it because there’s no other Arabic food, but still…

I can say I have learnt to enjoy falafel at Maktub. The owner takes you on an incredible trip across Middle East, centuries and cultures. Explaining food and species origins at the same time deepening knowledge on experiencing flavors.
All dishes are prepared “na hora” with fresh ingredients some from its own orgânic garden. Service is very good aligned with the whole experience.
Definitely the best arabic restaurante in the brazilian northeast.

If you are a person who enjoys having experiences in Arabic cuisine, Maktub Comida árabe artesanal, is the ideal place. My experience with the food and the place it was good. I really liked and I recomend for everyone. ;)

It's definitely an unique experience! A hidden gem! When my Daddy and I went, he said it was the best arabic middle-eastern/lebanese food he has ever had! (And he has been to Middle East!) Everyone must go through the gastronomic circuit! It's very different, tasty... the chef (a real chef) cuts the herbs from his own garden, on site! The other fresh ingredientes are picked up very carefully from the market, and that fact makes a big difference in flavor! 5 stars! 😍
